Description

Our Mission is to connect people to Jesus and one another and our Network Administrator will facilitate that by managing and maintaining Southeast Christian Church’s network and wireless infrastructure. The primary focus will be on ensuring uptime for the organization, staff, volunteers, and our congregants. Other responsibilities will include troubleshooting network issues with vendors and internal users, deploying new network solutions and serving as a support resource for our Internal Service Desk.

The type of individual we are looking for in this role is a self-starter, driven but balanced in their approach to problem solving, confident in their abilities but humble enough to know there is room to grow, and above all else committed to the belief that their abilities are God given for the benefit of helping the church. The ideal candidate will be highly relational, support minded, and detail oriented while maintaining the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church


Essential Functions

  • Change management of network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls (software updates, code fixes, and design changes)
  • Monitor and manage all aspects of internal and external network security, including SDWAN, VPN tunnels, and P2P radio equipment
  • General Administration of switches, firewalls, and wireless systems (port configurations, SSID creation, etc)
  • Support virtual switching infrastructure for virtual environment
  • Maintain and administer computer networks for ongoing staff, guest, and volunteer usage as well as for special events
  • Analyze QoS, traffic flow, packet loss, and wireless issues to determine if design changes or equipment upgrades are necessary
  • Create and maintain the necessary documentation on systems and processes
  • Serve as a support resource for our Production Arts Network Team
  • Serve as backup to Systems administration
  • Serve as a support resource for our Service Desk.

 

Essential Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of routing & switching platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of wireless platforms
  • Ability to explain complicated technical concepts to non-technical end users
  • Basic understanding of principles of RF
  • Basic knowledge of Windows server systems
  • Basic understanding of network security and firewall fundamentals
  • Basic knowledge of how applications behave over network
  • Basic knowledge of packet analysis
  • Basic knowledge of Linux platforms preferred
  • Basic knowledge of RADIUS based wireless authentication preferred
  • Basic administrative skills such as managing vendor accounts & tracking a budget.

 

Required Education, Ministry Experience, and SECC Membership:

  • CCNA, similar certification or equivalent experience in network administration
  • CWNA, similar certification or equivalent experience in wireless administration
  • CISM, similar certification or equivalent experience in network security management
  • Experience in supporting end users directly
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
  • Membership is required. So either already a member or willing to become one
