Do you have significant law enforcement experience and a heart for Christ?  Are you a personable, caring leader who can partner with ministries to provide a safe and secure environment for staff, members, and visitors, while ministries focus on their primary role of connecting people to Jesus and one another?  Do you enjoy the challenge of finding flexible, creative solutions to problems?  Can you operate with a high level of confidentiality, patience, tact, and diplomacy?  This key, church-wide leadership role is responsible for leading a team of professionals to oversee the safety and security of individuals and property at multiple campuses in Kentucky and Indiana, while supporting the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church. 

The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of safety and security procedures at a large organization, experience leading and equipping staff and volunteers, and familiarity with law enforcement procedures.  A minimum of five years of law enforcement experience, CCDW certification, Train the Trainer experience, Microsoft Office skills, and triage skills are required.  Key responsibilities include:
 

• Collaborate with ministries to ensue a safe and secure environment in which to connect people to Jesus and one another.
• Ensure compliance to State, Federal and Church regulations and policies.
• Develop, implement and periodically update a comprehensive safety and security plan including but not limited to: Weekend Worship Services, Special Events, Children and Student Programs, Staff Members, Facilities, Emergency Response Planning, Medical Readiness and Physical Property. 
• Initiate security response to any suspicious activity on property.
• Oversee all contract police officers providing personal security for staff.
• Manage access control system and monitor surveillance.
• Coordinate and direct police officer duties during church functions.
• Oversee background check process for volunteers and job applicants.
• Lead, equip, and motivate staff and volunteers on the Safety & Security team
