Description

Do you have a passion for discipleship? Are you a gifted teacher and speaker? The Connections Associate has accountability for guiding all adults who attend the campus to take the next step in their spiritual growth. This is accomplished primarily through interacting with visitors, maintaining an atrium presence, equipping decision guide volunteers, equipping Christ-followers, and establishing small groups, while maintaining alignment with the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church.

 

Essential Functions

  • Work with the Campus Pastor and the Multi-Campus Connections team to develop and implement strategies for the campus
  • Primary oversight of multi-faceted assimilation process from visitor to engaged member in alignment with SCC’s 4-chair disciple-making strategy
  • Provide pastoral care and oversight for on-campus small group environments and work with community pastors for off-campus small groups
  • Primary oversight of group engagement in alignment with SCC’s 4-chair disciple-making strategy
  • Provide oversight for the new member process and the First Step class
  • Participate in pastoral responsibilities, such as: hospital visitations, baptisms, weddings, funerals, MOC, etc.
  • Rotating platform host responsibilities

Essential Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of what Biblical disciple-making means and the ability to communicate it to others
  • Ability to shepherd, recruit, train, and empower volunteers
  • Highly relational and strong people skills
  • Strong work ethic and a team player

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Bible, Ministry, or Christian Education required
  • 3+ years ministry experience in a church setting; ordained or seeking ordination
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church who supports the Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church; lives out our church Mantra in tangible ways
