Description

Our Southwest Campus has a unique opening for a dual full-time role within our Student Ministry. If you have a heart for ministry with the Middle School age group, can work both behind the scenes in an administrative capacity and lead, this may be a position for you to consider. This position will offer the administrative support needed to enable the Student Ministry team to connect students to Jesus and one another and will walk with girls in the disciple-making process. If you have been called to minister to students, love the SW Community and are administratively talented. This may be the position for you!!"

Things you would be doing:

Middle School Ministry Associate

  • Develop a culture of discipleship for female volunteers and students. Intentionally invest in girls/women.
  • Lead a team of volunteers to plan and carry out girl-specific events.
  • Develop, equip & oversee teams of volunteers to pastorally connect with moms and female students based on needs.
  • Attend weekly Student programming. Encourage, equip & empower female volunteers/students.
  • Join the rest of the student ministry team in recruiting new volunteers.
  • Assist student ministry team in connecting with local schools (personal emphasis on 1 schools)

Operations

  • Receive and respond to all general communications [phone, email, etc.] regarding questions and ministry information.
  • Provide support for planning/executing of major Student events [i.e. Bible & Beach, Believe, MIX]
  • Oversee administrative prep and follow up of weekend services.
  • Connect interested/potential volunteers to the on-boarding process.
  • Attend and participate in weekly SW Student staff and church-wide meetings.
  • Handle purchasing/ordering of items, reservations and ministry scheduling.
  • Manage ministry communication strategies – mailings, emails, website, social media, bulletin, etc.
  • Assist Student Team Leader with ministry projects.

  • A Self-Starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily and upcoming tasks.
  • Capacity to handle a variety of details and plans at the same time.
  • Have an understanding of biblical disciple making
  • Natural Relationship Builder - building rapport and trust with people
  • Motivate Others - create energy, engagement and commitment from others
  • Enjoy shepherding/pastoring others in their physical, spiritual, emotional needs
  • Proficient in MAC and/or Windows software

To be considered you must:

  • Have a demonstrated alignment with the SCC Statement of Faith, Mission and Values
  • Be an engaged member of SCC or willing to become one
  • Have a Bachelor's degree, prefer a Bible degree, but must have youth ministry experience

This is a Sunday through Thursday position.
