Description
Do you want to create and maintain environments where people can safely attend events and connect with Jesus and one another? The Safety & Security Manager administers programs at our various campuses, under the direction of the Director of Safety and Security, and contributes to church-wide programs and procedures in a manner that meets people where they are with a passion for ministry and reaching the lost.
Essential Functions
- Develops, implements, and updates safety and security plans including: weekend services, special events, children and student programs, church staff, facilities, emergency response planning, medical readiness, sports and fitness activities/equipment, and property.
- Collaborates with campus staff to help identify and mobilize resources for safety and security needs including established medical response requirements and programs consisting of volunteer and contract medical teams.
- Identifies security staffing needs; collaborates with others to hire, schedule, and manage the security teams.
- Oversees contract police officers who provide personal security for staff and coordinates and directs police officer duties during church functions including traffic control.
- Identifies and provides training needs for staff and security teams.
- Takes appropriate action in response to suspicious activity.
- Responds to injury incidents.
- Manages the access control system and monitors surveillance.
- Insures compliance to state, federal, and church safety regulations and policies at multiple campuses. Oversees safety equipment, insures compliance of fire and safety codes and chemical use and storage.
- Responsible for child safety policies and processes.
Essential Competencies
- Ability to develop relationships and network with staff, members, visitors, the public, and all levels of police, fire, and emergency personnel; strong conflict resolution skills.
- A self-starter with the ability to work well independently as well as on a team.
- Physically able to stand for long periods of time and respond to situations which require physical exertion.
- Experience in conducting, assessing and responding to threat analyses.
- Comfortable using computer software and other technology.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of private and sensitive information.
- Spiritual gifts of leadership, service, discernment and collaboration.
- Regular visits and travel to and from campuses is a required expectation.
Required Education, Experience, and Membership
- Law enforcement or safety experience preferred.
- CCDW certified.
- Available to work most weekends and special events; flexible schedule.
- B.S. degree in a related field preferred.
