Social Media Specialist – Creative Arts | Southeast Christian Church

Are you the passionate Social Media Specialist we’re looking for who can maintain and grow Southeast Christian Church’s social media platform presence across multiple channels? This individual must have a heart for telling the stories of the Church through non-traditional mediums and engaging our community while maintaining alignment with the mission, vision, and heart of Southeast Christian Church.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

  • Publish engaging content to all Southeast Christian Church social media platforms.
  • Work with the social media teams across the Creative Arts ministry to build and execute social media strategy.
  • Capture the life of Southeast on social media platforms by attending events, services, initiatives, etc. and providing real-time organic content.
  • Implement brand identity by establishing and maintaining the voice and tone of the church on our social platforms.
  • Provide weekly reporting by analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, to recommend and implement new findings to maximize social reach.
  • Keep current with emerging social media technologies and trends to integrate into content rotation.
  • Collaborates with ministries and is involved with activities across all campuses and in our community.

Our Must-Haves

  • Communicate effectively - Familiar with social media concepts, practices, and procedures and effectively communicate the strategy, tone, and process for each of the church’s social media platforms.
  • Communicate effectively - Strong writing skills and be able to capture stories and moments on social media. Detail-oriented; editing, writing, punctuation, and proofreading skills are necessary.
  • Flexibility - Flexible and able to work independently to document key events/happenings in the church to help generate social media content (these events typically occur outside of “normal” office hours).
  • Innovate and create - Strong awareness and understanding of trending topics in the community and trending conversations with the congregation and community.
  • Relate well with others - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public relations, or comparable degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in a social media director role.
  • Proven success in prior or current role within the social media marketing field.
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church (or willing to become one); supports our Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church; lives out our church Mantra in tangible ways. https://www.southeastchristian.org/sermons/mantra/be-the-branch-2
