The Children’s Equipping Leader will shepherd, train and equip staff and hundreds of volunteers to build a biblically solid foundation to help foster and promote spiritually healthy homes. This person will oversee the entire Children’s Equipping Team to provide leadership for excellent execution of the myriad of details the team must manage for the purpose of pursuing the mission and mantras of Southeast Christian Church.

Essential Functions

• Shepherd, develop, and lead Children’s Equipping team
• Helps to ensure proper implementation of all Children’s Ministry policies & procedures
• Leads “Above & Beyond” equipping/training classes for new Children’s volunteers
• Develop “Beyond the Basics” training to equip volunteers with specific classroom management skills, age-appropriate teaching techniques, problem-solving, re-directing misbehavior, etc.
• Develop strategies for recruiting new groups of volunteers
• Provide oversight and leadership for all Volunteer Appreciation events
• Execute details for Children’s Camp, Special Events, Christmas Eve and Easter
• Develop work flow plan to track all staff and volunteer training
• Collaborate with IT, Legal, and Safety & Security in regards to clearing volunteers to serve, weekend check-in procedures & scanners, attendance, registration and online presence, etc.

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

• Undergraduate Degree Required

• 5+ years of ministry experience preferred

• Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church who supports the Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church
