Summary/Objective
The TV/Radio Editor should be an experienced editor that uses multi-camera editing, implementation of graphical elements, and music to share the Gospel through the Southeast Christian television and radio ministries. This person will edit a weekly 30-minute television show, edit a weekly radio broadcast, and schedule twelve different radio broadcasts to air across local stations. They will occasionally develop creative and storytelling content for television broadcasts when appropriate to the series, as well as coordinate the quality assurance and delivery of all files to local TV and radio stations. This person may also be tasked with developing, recording, and editing various podcasts. This candidate will be joining a team of other videographers that function at a high level, so they must have a history of working within creative teams, maintaining positive team dynamics, and be a team player through-and-through. Above all else, they must have a passion for sharing God’s story in order to transform lives.
Essential Functions
TV
• Video edit a weekly television broadcast using Adobe Premiere
• Video color grading
• Occasional use of cinematography and video lighting techniques using a multitude of cameras
• Coach camera and voice talent (when needed)
• Coordinate with local television stations to ensure delivery, scheduling clarity, file transfer and quality assurance
RADIO/PODCASTS
• Audio edit a weekly radio broadcast
• Schedule all radio broadcasts (currently 12 broadcasts across 3 local stations)
• Coordinate with local radio stations to ensure delivery, scheduling clarity, file transfer and quality assurance
• Develop, record, and edit various podcasts
• Record and edit radio commercials to create promotional materials
Essential Competencies
• Strong time-management and organizational skills. Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines and deliverables
• Proficiency in video editing techniques using Adobe Premiere
• Proficiency in video color grading techniques
• Proficiency in video graphic creation and implementation
• Intermediate abilities in using video cameras and lighting equipment
• Proficiency in audio editing techniques
• Intermediate abilities in podcast creation techniques and a knowledge of other effective podcasts
• Ability to display professionalism and an ongoing positive, Christian attitude while working with others
• Ability to develop ideas within teams and be a team-player. Prior experience working with video teams is preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly to change and willingness to learn and develop new skill sets
• Intermediate working ability in After Effects and Photoshop a bonus (not required)
Required Education, Experience, and Membership
• Bachelor’s degree in Film Production or Communications or comparable work experience
• 2+ years professional editing experience
• Reel of video editing work must be submitted upon applying
• Southeast Christian Church membership and active involvement required if hired
