Are you an ordained pastor with a passion for discipleship?  Are you a gifted teacher and speaker?  The Connections Pastor has accountability for guiding all adults who attend the campus to take the next step in their spiritual growth. This is accomplished primarily through interacting with visitors, maintaining an atrium presence, equipping decision guide volunteers, equipping Christ-followers, and establishing small groups. This pastor will ensure alignment with the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church.


Essential Functions

  • Work with the Campus Pastor and others to develop and implement strategies for the campus.
  • Oversee the multi-faceted assimilation process from visitor to engaged member in alignment with SCC’s disciple-making strategy.
  • Provide pastoral care and oversight for on-campus small group environments and work with community pastors for off-campus small groups.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the First Impressions ministry.
  • Oversee group engagement in alignment with SCC’s disciple-making strategy.
  • Oversee the new member process and the First Step class.
  • Participate in pastoral responsibilities such as hospital visitations, baptisms, weddings, funerals, MOC, etc.
  • Perform platform host responsibilities as needed.

Essential Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Biblical disciple-making and the ability to communicate it to others.
  • Ability to shepherd, recruit, train, and empower volunteers.
  • Highly relational with strong people skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Team player.

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • Ordained pastor with a Bachelor’s degree in Bible, Ministry, or Christian Education required.
  • 5+ years ministry experience in a church setting.
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church who supports the Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church
