Description

This role serves as an innovative and collaborative ministry partner with responsibility for the successful delivery of solutions in support of strategic church initiatives. This individual must apply creative thinking, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of our IT system investments. The key focus is to drive improvements in our church-wide processes via technology while serving as the liaison between ministry leaders and IT. This person will ensure that ministry needs are being met in an effective and efficient manner and works closely with leadership to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with Ministry Teams and Technical teams in the planning, design, and development of new information system solutions.
  • Support technology teams in translating ministry requirements to detailed stories/tasks for development teams to deliver functionality.
  • Lead “Discovery/Solutions Sessions” to identify opportunities that achieve the goal while enhancing operational effectiveness in a meaningful way.
  • Provide leadership for the implementation of process improvement opportunities by mapping out process changes, refining requirements and scope, and proactively communicating project capabilities to leaders, stakeholders, and users.
  • Produce high quality documentation for requirements, solution options, business cases, and recommendations on proposed solutions.
  • Partner with the ministries and technology teams to ensure processes are understood, documented, and fit the needs of the organization.
  • Map processes from current to future state, define requirements and scope, and proactively champion change to stakeholders and development teams.
  • Assist ministry stakeholders with testing of system changes and analyze data flows for process improvement opportunities.
  • Advocate process changes to improve and support ministry activities in designing future state of new products and platforms.

  • Ability to apply cost/benefit analysis in assessment and recommendation of new system solutions.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Ability to influence and gain the support of key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Proven ability to facilitate requirement workshops / training sessions with large groups of users and leadership.
  • Experience in process mapping, group facilitation, data gathering and analysis, and phases of project life cycle (requirements gathering, design, development, deployment, training, and measuring effectiveness.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be self-directed, requiring minimal supervision while achieving consistent, timely delivery of objectives.

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church (or willing to become one) who supports our Statement of Faith, submits to the leadership established by the church, and lives out our church Mantra in tangible ways.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field with 3+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Proven development of innovative and impactful systems/solutions.
  • Knowledge of JIRA preferred
  • Experience in an Agile Development Environment preferred
