The Outdoor Maintenance Tech will help to provide ongoing maintenance and improvements that are necessary at the Blankenbaker Campus while, also, maintaining alignment with the mission and mantras of Southeast Christian Church.
Essential Functions

Maintain grounds: Mow grass, edge, water lawns, feed and trim shrubs, tend flower beds, and regularly inspect assigned work areas to insure proper standards are maintained

Operate power equipment, including but not limited to: all types of mowers, edgers, hedge trimmers, chain saws, pickup trucks, Gators, and tractor/loaders, as necessary

Adjust, clean, and perform minor mechanical work on grounds equipment

Apply pesticides according to industry safety standards

Identify common landscape weeds and apply control measures

Maintains roads: patch pot holes, clean drains, sweep debris, and clear snow and ice
- Work with volunteers in completing jobs; give guidance and direction to assist in the completion of work
- May supervise student or temporary employees or assign tasks to a helper
Essential Competencies
- Ability to operate a variety of gas-powered equipment; ability to safely sharpen hand tools
- Flexibility to work at any time during winter and on weekends during the growing season
- Ability to perform physical activities, including but not limited to: lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Frequently required to work under inclement weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and solve problems, as needed
Required Education, Experience, and Membership
- High School graduate; some college preferred
- One year of experience in gardening/maintaining grounds; experience maintaining large grounds preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated alignment with Southeast Christian Church's Statement of Faith
