Description

Summary/Objective

The HSM Worship Pastor role is responsible for overseeing and developing the musical side of the high school weekly services with volunteer worship teams. This happens in partnership with both the high school team leader and the middle school worship pastor in both philosophy and program collaboration. This role also shapes the beliefs and values of what Biblical worship is in high school while ensuring alignment with the vision, mission, and strategies of Southeast Christian.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Weekly maintenance of planning center account for high school services

  • Weekly coordination & collaboration with high school service producer, production, and high school team members.

  • Disciple and develop teams of musicians and vocalists that volunteer in HSM worship

  • Pastor high school students

  • Shape beliefs and values of Biblical worship on and off the stage with high school ministry

  • Lead worship weekly in high school services, retreats, and camps

  • Have a healthy working relationship & partnership with Awaken Worship.

  • Co-lead Awaken Youth projects and events with both the middle school worship pastor & Next Gen Lead Pastor.

  • Build relationships with other Next-Gen Worship Pastors on other campuses

  • Shape skill development and disciple making of volunteers in unity with middle school worship pastor

  • Print charts, load tracks, and lead rehearsals for weekly worship programs

    Essential Competencies:
     

  • Strong vocal ability

  • Strong Understanding of Music and Production and ability to recruit, equip and train others to serve in all areas of Next Gen programming

  • 5 Years Working in Student Ministry and/or Worship Leading within the Context of the Local Church

  • Excellent communications skills (written and oral)

  • Steady demeanor under pressure

  • Passion for the Next Generation

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Process-oriented thinking, Ministry hardwiring, problem-solving skills

  • Experience working with adults and students

  • Team-player mindset

  • Strong knowledge of PC & Mac software utilizing Ableton, Planning Center Online, Pro-Presentor

  • Self-starter and motivator, flexible

  • Strong organizational skills; decisive

  • Solution-oriented; Conflict management skills

  • Ability to multi-task think “Big Picture”, delegate responsibility

  • Must be able to lead volunteers

  • Create an atmosphere of mentor/disciple volunteers

Required Education, Experience, and Membership:

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry preferred

  • Experience in leading worship in ministry contexts of 100-500

  • Engaged member of SECC; supporting the Statement of Faith and submitting to the leadership established by church

  • Ordained or moving towards becoming an Ordained Minister.
