Description
Are you friendly and helpful?  Would you enjoy being the first point of contact for visitors and others?   This part time role provides a pivotal opportunity to connect people to Jesus and one another at the Security desk. This role will also provide leadership for the part time Security Assistant team, as directed by the Safety & Security Manager.  Must be able to work approximately 16 hours per week on weekdays and weekends.  Typical shifts are 7 AM - 3 PM and 3:30 PM - 10 PM.

 

Essential Functions

  • Provide support for security by coordinating the various functions at the security desk.
  • Coordinate building lock-up volunteer teams when assigned an evening shift.
  • Assist people as they enter the building by providing directions, calling other ministry representatives, shuttling boxes or items, and providing other services as needed to guests, staff and members.
  • Present a helpful, welcoming presence to all who enter.
  • Create and monitor schedules for the part time security assistant team, as directed by the Safety & Security Manager.
  • Assist with traffic control and parking at the 920 campus, as directed by the Safety & Security Manager.

Essential Competencies

  • Must be able to hear and understand conversations in person, on the SCC radio and on the telephone.
  • Physical ability to walk in and around the main building as she/he will be asked to lock exterior and interior doors.
  • Provide a friendly, helpful attitude toward everyone.
  • Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends.

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • High School Education and a minimum of 6 months membership at SCC.
  • Alignment with the SCC statement of faith and the mission, vision, and strategies of the church.
