WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY BE DOING:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Event Management System; answer questions, make software updates with the help of IT, troubleshoot issues, and help create the infrastructure for new campuses/rooms in the software.
  • Coordinate details and implement logistics plans for major large events, as well as the daily oversight and processing of regular ongoing building usage requests.
  • Walk alongside ministries and outside organizations to execute events of all kinds from start to finish; offer practical direction.
  • Act as liaison between the ministry or organization requesting the event and the supporting staff who service the event.
  • Maintain a presence at major events to oversee accurate set up and tear down and respond to needs that arise during the event.
  • Effectively communicate with staff, congregants, volunteers, and the community.
  • Utilize facility scheduling software to review and approve event requests, daily activities, and meetings.
  • Lead planning and debrief meetings.
  • Process and review contracts and certificates of insurance when required for an event.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date records relative to expenditures, contracts, and correspondence for prior and upcoming events.

  • Ability to work as a team with other Event Coordinators and supporting ministries in the scheduling, planning, and organizing of ministry activities, conferences, and major events.
  • Ability to solve problems, resolve conflicts, and anticipate issues that may arise.
  • Ability to exhibit an attitude of self-motivation, resourcefulness, and initiative.
  • Ability to think strategically and act decisively.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills; ability to multi-task.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to initiate collaboration and build relationships.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate constant changes in ministry activities. Early morning, evening, and weekend hours vary depending upon the number of ministry activities scheduled and their priority.
  • Bachelor’s degree; related experience preferred.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs and comfortable with learning the current scheduling software and training others in its use.
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church who supports the Statement of Faith, submits to the leadership established by the church, and lives out our church mantra in tangible ways.
