Summary/Objective

The Communications Strategist is an innovative and analytical media specialist who uses their God-given marketing talents to strategize how to effectively promote marketing campaigns across multiple platforms. Above all, they must have an absolute passion to use media to tell God's stories in an innovative and compelling fashion while maintaining alignment with the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church.

 

Essential Functions

  • This position will report directly to the Senior Communications Strategist to help aide in all Communications projects that come through via requests or meetings.
  • Meet with different ministries on a regular basis to discuss marketing initiatives for the upcoming months.
  • Create, plan, and execute Ministry Communications Plans needed throughout the year.
  • Assist in creating new processes in how Communications receives and disperses new projects from campuses and ministries.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deploy internal and external church-wide promotions.
  • Assist in managing the SECC website and application redesign project while working with graphic designers and the IT team.
  • Deploy media across various platforms including but not limited to – e-blasts, video, weekend services, TV, IMAG, digital signage, web, individual ministries, events, social media, and print.
  • Assist in creating media releases and sending them to the appropriate outlets
  • Maintain positive media relations and coordinate with on-site media personnel at events and public facing forums

  • Multitask - Must be an analytical, detail-oriented, self-starter that is able to multi-task and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Manage Ambiguity - Strong time management and organizational skills. Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines and deliverables, and small amounts of information.
  • Problem Solve - Identifies the true nature of a problem, analyzes the problem to gain a comprehensive picture, and develops and implements solutions to the problem.
  • Plan and Manage Workflow Details - Provides clear direction and expectations on how a team will accomplish goals effectively. Delegates tasks and projects appropriately to team members.

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications or comparable work experience
  • 5+ Years of professional marketing experience
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church who supports the Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church
