Are you a bold and humble leader with 10 or more years of leadership experience in Accounting and Finance?  Do you want to use your skills to impact the Kingdom and connect people to Jesus and one another?  Check out this opportunity to lead the Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, and Treasury functions of a complex, multi-site church, while reporting to the Senior Executive Pastor and working closely with the Elder Chairman of the Finance Committee.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING:
  • Serve as the point person to the Elder Board regarding the financial status of the church and all associated entities; provide key data and financial reporting in a timely manner; regularly present to the Board
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the accounting and finance areas of the church; recruit, lead, and retain skilled staff
  • Direct internal controls and financial procedures; ensure the highest level of stewardship of financial resources
  • Recommend and oversee improvements to processes and systems to ensure the integrity of financial information
  • Identify and manage business risks and insurance requirements
  • Oversee the annual budget preparation for the church
  • Assist Elders, the senior leadership team, and ministries with financial planning and problem resolution; support strategic planning and collaborate with ministry leaders to ensure their vision is supported
  • Handle real estate donations and other complex financial contributions
  • Assist in reviews of contracts; responsible for signing contracts
  • Partner with the HR Director in the negotiations of most benefits, such as health insurance, as well as monitoring and forecasting payroll and benefits expenses
  • Create and enhance financial dashboards and ancillary reports appropriate to the strategic direction of the church
  • Produce cash flow analyses, budget forecasts, and other financial data as requested by senior leadership or Elders
  • Utilize technology to continuously improve processes and efficiencies for maximum effectiveness within the accounting and finance ministry
  • Successfully manage relationships with independent auditors, financial institutions, vendors, Elders, staff, members and others

  • Effective communicator to all levels of management, staff and membership; able to communicate complex financial information in simple terms
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Highly organized with ability to multitask
  • Fast-paced with a steady demeanor under pressure
  • Highest level of integrity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel
  • Knowledge of all aspects of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • CPA with Accounting or Finance Degree; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of management experience in accounting/finance; megachurch/non-profit experience preferred
  • A student of the Word, who has an intimate walk with the Father, who is Spirit-led, and who is grounded in and living out a gospel-centric life
  • Engaged member of SECC who supports the Statement of Faith, submits to the leadership established by the church, and lives out our church mantras in tangible ways
