Description
 Are you a natural connector and disciple-maker?  Do you have a heart for shepherding young men and women?  The College Age Connections Associate will work to create and maintain intentional pathways of connection, disciple-making, and engagement at College Age programming and events. 

Essential Functions

  • Participate in planning and execution of monthly CAM gatherings as a catalyst environment for connection, vision, and culture building.
  • Create and maintain intentional pathways of connection, disciple-making, and engagement; Oversee and develop pathways of pastoral connection for first and few-time visitors of CAM.
  • Recruit, equip, and lead a core group of volunteers; create an environment that develops and multiplies key volunteers. Challenge others to take the next step in their development and provide opportunities to reach their full kingdom-potential in their specific area of calling/gifting.
  • Develop and oversee weekly community nights and groups that create an environment for young men and women to be discipled and for leaders to be equipped.
  • Create and send communications to volunteers and others through emails, phone calls, social media, and other outlets.
  • Participate in CAM Sunday programming to create a weekend culture of shepherding and connection; teach and/or host as needed.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of regular community-building events for CAM; Plan and/or lead retreats and trips for CAM.
  • Collaborate with local college ministries and other local ministries to serve the greater goal of moving the Gospel forward in our city.

Essential Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; teaching skills helpful.
  • Ability to build effective relationships both inside and outside the ministry; naturally build rapport and trust with others.
  • Ability to shepherd/pastor others to become more like Christ.
  • Ability to develop, equip, and lead volunteers and others and to build effective volunteer teams.
  • Ability to motivate others to work toward the mission.
  • A passion for discipling young people.
  • A strong follower of Christ who models a missional life and a Christ-like way of living in all areas.

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • A Bachelor's degree; Ministry/Bible degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of ministry experience; College Age ministry experience preferred.
  • Experience implementing disciple-making strategies.
  • Engaged member of SCC who supports the Statement of Faith, submits to the leadership of the church, and lives out the church Mantra in tangible ways.
