Description

The role of the Block Production Director is first and foremost to be a disciple-maker. The Block Production Director will lead a production team that oversees the functional use of the Next Gen venue. The objective of this role is to create and maintain sustainable and reliable AVL systems, as well as the development of staff/volunteers that support all weekend services, special events and programs occurring within the venue. Everything will be done striving to have a Christ-centered attitude for the primary purpose of achieving the mission, vision, and strategies of Production Arts and Southeast Christian Church.

Essential Functions

The essential functions of this role are two-fold: the oversight and maintenance of all production aspects of the Block (Audio, Video and Lighting); and the development and leadership of a highly competent staff and volunteer team that serves the ministry needs of Next Gen and the facility as a whole. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Recruiting, training, equipping, scheduling, encouragement and disciple-making of the MSM and HSM and CAM production teams
  • Directing any and all technical elements involved in MSM, HSM and CAM services including audio, lighting, video, staging and interactive service elements
  • Partnering with others in the development of student programming, stage designs, service elements, etc.
  • Actively participating in weekly team meetings
  • Maintaining and repairing any and all production equipment in the Block
  • Developing and adhering to annual Production Arts budget
  • Researching, designing, and purchasing any and all new equipment and systems in the Block
  • Installing any audio, lighting, and video systems in the Block
  • Creating and implementing long-term building and equipment upgrade plans as well as preventative maintenance
  • Overseeing, coordinating, and directing the technical needs of any and all special events in the block including but not limited to concerts, conferences, block parties, live recordings, outside groups, etc.
  • Oversee any technical needs for that might be required for off-site NexGen programming with the input, supervision and assistance of the SECC tech team
  • Develop and Maintain Healthy Relationships with other ministry departments and campuses
  • Oversee and manage the reservation and usage of NextGen Tech equipment

Essential Competencies

  • Have a heart for discipleship and a passion for team-building
  • Be a proven leader with natural communications skills
  • Have a very strong working knowledge of audio, video, lighting and staging
  • Organized and detail oriented - able to manage multiple projects yet stay focused
  • Ability to develop processes and manage projects
  • Good working knowledge of computer systems and various office and production software
  • Hard-working, but know how have a good time; must have a sense of humor

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • 3+ years live production experience; leadership experience in a medium or large church
  • College Degree or equivalent experience
  • Champion the Production Arts mission… “Humbly working together to create environments where people can connect to Jesus and one another”
  • Be a member, or willing to become a member, of Southeast Christian Church and a demonstrated alignment with our statement of faith
