Description

Are you passionate about connecting children to Jesus?  Are you an organized leader?  The Weekday Childcare Coordinator will coordinate schedules for childcare workers and provide a safe, clean, and fun environment for children during weekday events, primarily in the evenings.  This role supports the other ministries of the Crestwood campus while adhering to the vision, mission, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church.  This is a Monday - Friday position with evening and daytime shifts that total approximately 15 hours/week . 

 

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate schedules for childcare workers.
  • Maintain a safe environment for children and childcare workers.
  • Collaborate with childcare staff from others campuses for standardized practices.
  • Partner with campus staff to create and maintain adequate childcare space.
  • Understand role as a support ministry and partner with campus staff to determine best practices and needs for each ministry.
  • Provide basic, minimal adaptation of weekend curriculum for weekday programming.
  • Be a compassionate and flexible team leader.
  • Maintain records and administrative paperwork.
  • Approve payroll.
  • Set up rooms as needed.
  • Clean/launder toys and other items as needed.
  • Provide first aid and seek medical help as needed.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians.
  • Delegate items to childcare staff.
  • May assist in checking kids and staff into ROCK.
  • May sub for other childcare coordinators.
  • May perform other duties specific to the children’s ministry needs at the campus, such as overseeing the organization and distribution of resources and supplies for children’s programming.

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • High School diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Certified in CPR/First Aid/AED or ability to become certified.
  • An engaged member with a demonstrated alignment with the Statement of Faith and the Mission, Vision and Strategies of SCC.
