Description

REFUGEE AND IMMIGRANT ADVOCATE

Build a team of people who walk with Refugees and Immigrants to help navigate the assimilation process in the United States. Help connect resources that are in the city of Louisville to individuals and families working with Southeast Christian Church and the Community Engagement team at the Beechmont Center and Multination Fellowships.

Job Description:

  • Maintain relationships with and pursue prayerful unity with local Immigrant and Refugee communities and Fellowships.
  • Help advocate, mobilize, and connect Southeast Christian Church to engage with Immigrants and Refugees at the Beechmont Center and Multination Fellowships.
  • Connect church members to be part of the co-journeying teams that serve with local ministry partners to engage with immigrants and refugees.
  • Connect Immigrants and Refugees to quality jobs in our area by building a data base of possible employers.
  • Connect families to ESL classes throughout our city.

  • Compassion for those facing struggles financially, spiritually and emotionally.
  • A demonstrated ability to serve and interact maturely with people of all ages from all walks of life.
  • Experience overseeing volunteers and leaders.
  • Experience identifying, recruiting and developing lay leaders.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church (or willing to become one); supports our Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church; lives out our church Mantra in tangible ways.
