Description
Are you a proven leader with financial expertise and high-level strategic planning skills?  This vital role requires proactive financial oversight of all areas of the church to ensure financial decisions are made appropriately and with the upmost integrity.  In addition to leading the Finance Ministry teams, this servant-leader communicates routinely with the Elder Board regarding the financial status of the church and collaborates with ministry leaders to enure their vision is supported while maintaining the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead the following teams:  Accounting, Accounts Payable, Contributions, Payroll, Construction Accounting, Audit, Attendance & Insurance, Purchasing, Shipping & Receiving, and Document Services.
  • Ensure clarity on controls, policies, and procedures and the highest level of stewardship of our financial resources.
  • Oversee annual budget preparation for the church.
  • Assist Elders and Lead Team with financial planning.
  • Assist ministries with financial planning and problem resolution.
  • Handle real estate donations.
  • Assist in the review of contracts; sign contracts.
  • Plan and implement new accounting systems.
  • Serve on the Finance Committee, Investment Committee, Compensation Committee and Audit Committee.
  • Partner with the Organizational Development Leader in negotiations of most benefit plans, such as health insurance.
  • Partner closely with the Organizational Development Leader to monitor and forecast payroll and benefits expenses.
  • Generate cash flow for construction projects.
  • Produce cash flow analyses and budget forecasts.

Required Education, Experience & Membership:
  • Accounting or Finance Degree; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum ten years of accounting management experience; megachurch/non-profit experience preferred.
  • Engaged member of SECC who supports the Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church.
