The Information Technology team is seeking a candidate to serve on our Software Engineer Team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for using their programming and problem-solving skills in support of ministry initiatives. This is a Sr Level position; the qualified person must be flexible to move between tasks as project priorities shift and will steward their time and gifts wisely. The person who fills this position will be joining a team of highly competent and dedicated programmers, who meet daily to praise accomplishments, to discuss future goals, and to lend a helping hand when needed including limited IT on-call rotation support.

Some things you will be doing:

  • Solve organization needs through the application, development, and education of technology.
    • Work with ministry partners to understand their challenges and needs
    • Implement new software, test solutions, and fix bugs
    • Write and maintain efficient, reliable, and readable C# code
    • Document functionality and support end users
  • Work with the software engineers to achieve team success
    • Fully participate in the agile Scrum process
    • Support other developers as they complete their goals
  • Manage and maintain mission critical systems and services

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • Proficient with C# .Net; especially Entity Framework and WebForms
  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript and web development frameworks (jQuery, Bootstrap, Vue)
  • A strong skillset regarding Relational Databases and SQL
  • Understanding of DevOps, Agile methodologies, and modern source control practices
  • Experience with building and consuming web services (REST, OAuth, etc)
  • Experience with software development in an enterprise environment
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church (or willing to become one) who supports our Statement of Faith, submits to the leadership established by the church, and lives out our church Mantra in tangible ways.
