Description

Are you a relational and detail-oriented servant who wants to equip families to help their children fall in love with Jesus? Can you inspire, equip and lead others during weekend services and weekday programming? Are you flexible and eager to learn the many aspects of Children’s Ministry, while assisting the River Valley Children’s Ministry Leader with administrative and ministry tasks? Essential Functions

 

  • Implement Children’s ministry vision and goals in conjunction with the Children’s Ministry Leader
  • Build relationships with children, parents, volunteers, and community partners
  • Partner with and equip parents to connect their children to Jesus outside of weekend services
  • Lead and invest in others (team leaders, small group, leaders, parents, etc.) through relational interactions that encourage and build up, especially in times of crisis
  • Engage in volunteer recruitment and training duties, working alongside the Campus Team as well as the Children’s Team to cast vision, identity, and equip in the areas of giftedness, train in safety and security procedures, and disciple where possible
  • Train, shepherd, and schedule volunteers for the Children’s Ministry
  • Appreciate and encourage volunteers consistently throughout onboarding, shadowing, and serving processes
  • Assist with special event planning for the Children’s Ministry
  • Plan, adapt, and implement, age-appropriate curriculum for large and small groups during weekend services, as well as other activities that assist in the mission of connecting children and families to Jesus and one another
  • Work in unity with Children’s Ministry Leader in dreaming, vision casting, and carrying out of action items associated with connecting children and families to Jesus and one another
  • May recruit, interview, train, and schedule weekday childcare workers
  • Perform administrative duties to support the Children’s Ministry

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in general ministry related field
  • Member of SCC or willing to become a member upon hire
  • Demonstrated alignment with SCC’s Statement of Faith
