The Audio Director will oversee the creative and functional use of live audio within the Blankenbaker. The objective of this role is to create and maintain sustainable and reliable audio systems, as well as oversee the development of staff, contractors, and volunteers for all weekend services, special events, and programs within the BB WC. All this will be done with the primary purpose of achieving the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church, and above all else, communicating the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This is what you would get to do!

  • Partner with the Broadcast Production Director, Broadcast Team Leads, Creative Team, and Weekend Executive Producer to design and create live audio applications beneficial to all programming happening within the BB WC venue
  • Manage all live audio assets and audio spaces within BB WC
  • Lead, recruit, equip, schedule, encourage, and lead through disciple-making of the BB WC audio team which could include staff, contractors, and volunteers
  • Create and oversee a live audio training program to increase quality volunteer participation
  • Actively participate in weekly team meetings
  • Develop and adhere to annual audio budget, including audio improvements and equipment upgrade plans
  • Develop and maintain healthy relationships with Production Arts Ministry, Worship Ministry, Preaching Ministry, other ministries, and campuses

 

You should already own these:

  • Have a strong passion for the Gospel
  • Solid working knowledge of how video, lighting, and staging integrate with live and broadcast audio
  • Strong understanding of DiGiCo & Yamaha consoles.
  • Experience with Sure & Sennheiser wireless systems
  • Solid understanding of pre/post production as it integrates with audio production
  • Competency in live audio production and PA systems, consoles, digital & analog patch bays, racks, routers, signal flow, recording gear and various digital audio equipment
  • Working knowledge of Waves, Logic, Pro Tools, Wireless Workbench and various other audio applications
  • Ability to problem-solve and clearly communicate solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership abilities, especially when it comes to developing and equipping contract/volunteer leaders of differing skill levels
  • Ability to think creatively, both to solve problems and accommodate ministry event needs

 

 

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • College Degree or equivalent experience
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church who supports the Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church; lives out church Mantras in tangible ways
