Summary/Objective
The Blankenbaker Campus Audio Director will oversee all aspects of live audio for the Blankenbaker Campus worship center. This oversight will ensure the functional use of the worship center for effective production support and ministry execution in all areas of audio reinforcement. The main objectives of this role will be to create and maintain sustainable audio systems as well as to develop volunteers for long-term support of all events and programs occurring within the Blankenbaker Campus worship center. Everything will be done with the primary purpose of achieving the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church.

Essential Functions
The essential function of this role is two-fold: the functional oversight and maintenance of all live audio production aspects of the Blankenbaker worship center, and the development and mentoring of a highly competent audio staff and volunteer team who work together to connect people to Jesus and one another through each event. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Recruiting, equipping, scheduling, encouraging, and disciple-making of audio staff and volunteers.
  • Directing any and all technical live audio elements involved in weekend services and events in the Blankenbaker worship center venue.
  • Striving to assist in the live audio development of other venues within the Blankenbaker campus as directed by Blankenbaker Technical Director.
  • Working with other members of the Production Arts team to provide live audio support and developing the best practices to support other campuses.
  • Maintaining and repairing any and all audio production equipment in the Blankenbaker worship center venue and other venues of the campus as directed by Blankenbaker Technical Director.
  • Researching, designing, and purchasing any and all live audio equipment and systems in the Blankenbaker worship center venue.
  • Coordinating installs of any audio equipment in the Blankenbaker worship center venue.
  • Creating and implementing long-term building and equipment upgrade plans as it relates to live audio reinforcement.
  • Overseeing any live audio needs that might be required for off-site programming as directed by Blankenbaker Technical Director.
  • Overseeing and managing the reservation and usage of Blankenbaker worship center audio equipment.
  • Developing and maintaining healthy relationships with other ministry departments and campuses.

Essential Competencies
  • 5+ yrs live production experience
  • Proficiency in live audio engineering, including but not limited to 4+ yrs experience mixing FOH (A1), monitors, proper mic techniques, dynamics processing, equalization techniques, RF coordination, basic studio recording, digital audio, system design and control, networking, room tuning and equipment repair
  • Experience with SMAART or equivalent room tuning software and procedures
  • Proficiency on various mixing consoles, analog and digital
  • Must be a developer and equipper of volunteer leaders
  • Must be a team player who operates out of humility

Required Education, Experience, and Membership
  • College Education – degree in audio engineering or equivalent work experience in live audio engineering
  • 4+ Years of Experience working as a volunteer or on staff in this specific area of ministry
  • Member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become member upon employment
  • Demonstrated alignment with Southeast’s Statement of Faith
