Summary/Objective

The Communications Strategist is an innovative and analytical media specialist who uses their God-given marketing talents to strategize how to effectively promote marketing campaigns across multiple platforms including print, texting, e-blasts, video, web, social media, and digital signage. They work, independently, on multiple projects, as well as collaboratively within teams. Above all, they must have an absolute passion to use media to tell God’s stories in an innovative and compelling fashion while maintaining alignment with the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church.

Essential Functions

  • Planning, coordinating and deploying all INTERNAL and EXTERNAL church-wide promotions, including project managing a monthly magazine publication
  • Deploying media across various platforms including but not limited to – monthly magazine, e-blasts, weekend services, TV, Imag, digital signage, radio, web, individual ministries, events, social media, print and e-blasts
  • Research and develop new media opportunities
  • Write press releases and field media inquiries
  • Maintain positive media relations and coordinate with on-site media personnel at events and public facing forums
  • Plan/budget/execute media buys, and research and coordinate on-site media relations with an assortment of media personnel.

 

Essential Competencies

  • Must be an analytical, detail-oriented, self-starter that is able to multi-task and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Must have the ability to promote and deploy media using mainstream platforms as well as new media formats, with a proven track-record for maintaining excellence and utilizing innovative thinking
  • Expert level skills in media planning/buying, media relations, and written communication
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines and deliverables
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and Basecamp
  • Ability to display professionalism and an ongoing positive, Christian attitude while working with a multitude of ministries.

 

 

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications or comparable work experience
  • 5+ Years of professional marketing experience
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church who supports the Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church
