Summary/Objective

The Videographer/Editor should be an experienced creative storyteller that uses vision, aesthetics, composition, and editing to passionately tell God’s stories in an innovative and compelling way. This person will develop, shoot, and edit video; working collaboratively alongside pastors, ministry leaders at all campuses, as well as other videographers and creatives. The ideal candidate will not just capture moments or create “stuff”, but will be a fountain of development ideas, helping leaders to actualize their vision. Above all else, they must help to maintain, promote and convey the mission, vision, and strategies of Southeast Christian Church.

 

 

Essential Functions

  • Generating and developing creative ideas
  • Using cinematography and video lighting techniques with a multitude of cameras including Sony C100/F3/FS100, Canon 5D/7D, and GoPro as well as industry standard set lighting and grip equipment
  • Editing of various projects using Adobe Premi
  • Working, both independently and collaboratively, with teams that include ministry leaders, producers, directors, other videographers, motion graphics artists, writers and sound designers.

 

Essential Competencies

  • Mastery of digital storytelling techniques required (lighting, cinematography, editing)

  • Ability to display professionalism and an ongoing positive, Christian attitude while working alongside the leaders at multiple campuses.

  • Strong understanding of innovative storytelling techniques—narrative plot development, lighting, composition, non-linear editing, and color grading

  • Ability to develop creative ideas within teams and be a team-player alongside other creatives.

  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.

  • Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines and deliverables

  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and willingness to learn and develop new skill sets

  • Mastery in Adobe Premiere

  • Proficiency in Color Grading

  • Intermediate working ability in After Effects, Cinema 4D and Photoshop a bonus (not required)

     

    Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film Production or Communications

  • 5+ years professional filmmaking and editing experience

  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church who supports the Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church

  • Reel of video work must be submitted upon applying
