At Southeast we believe the local church should reflect its community.  We are excited to see this belief becoming reality at our SW Campus. With that in mind, we are committed to making our Next Gen discipleship model more reflective of this.  If you are passionate about the next generation and desire to help us in establishing a multi-cultural discipleship strategy that will "connect students to Jesus and one another", then please prayerfully read on to see if God may be calling you to apply.

Objective:

Work on our Student Connections Team with an emphasis of helping us step into a multi-cultural ministry. The Student Connections Team primarily focuses on 3 things…

  1. Connect new student to our ministry (reach)
  2. Connect our students to groups (build)
  3. Connect our students in groups with serving opportunities in the church. Community and around the world (equip)

Essential Functions

Reach

  • Assist student ministry team in connecting with local schools (personal emphasis on 2 schools)
  • Oversee the High School Ministry (HSM) Open Gym.
  • Plan/oversee Middle School Ministry (MSM) outreach events.
  • Connect students in our church that are not connected to our ministry.

 

Build

  • Establish a multi-cultural discipleship plan.
  • Lead a group during MSM & HSM Worship.

 

Equip

  • Mobilize students to serve in our church, city and around the world.

 

Programming

  • Preach when scheduled during MSM & HSM Worship.
  • Join the rest of the student ministry team in creating a multi-cultural worship environment.
  • Join the rest of the student ministry team in recruiting new volunteers.

  • Strong Communication, Facilitation and Management Skills

 

Required Education, Experience, and Membership

  • College Education – Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 Years of experience working as a volunteer or on staff in student ministry
  • Alignment with the SECC Statement of Faith, values, mission, vision, and strategies
  • Member of Southeast Christian Church
