In our mission of connecting people to Jesus and one another, web and digital platforms are vital growth areas to extend our reach further beyond the walls of Southeast. Technology is constantly evolving; therefore the Web Content Coordinator must keep up with current digital and technological trends. It is vital that our web and mobile properties, applications, and all online tools are current, relevant, and more importantly drive engagement. This is a role for a content generator – someone who is a self-motivated individual with experience and skills in web content management, writing and editing for the web, and site management. In addition to writing, editing, and proofreading site content, this person will work hard to maintain site standards. They will also be responsible for the creation and deployment of our online email marketing communications. You must be a good communicator and enjoy working with all the different ministries within this church. We are looking for someone who is a creative visionary with a passion for web and mobile applications that can advance the progression of the church and God’s Kingdom. 
 

Essential Functions
 

  • Coordinate and implement website updates, including new and existing content additions, deletions and modifications as well as approved digital enhancements within a web-based Content Management System.
  • Create, develop, and manage content for the church web properties
  • Assist the Communications Strategist in the vision and development towards redesign of the SECC website and application.
  • Coordinate web projects across ministries
  • Maintain a consistent tone and branding throughout all web properties
  • Working with a cross-ministry team, maintain and develop the master content calendar for the church website
  • Design digital media campaigns aligned with ministry goals
  • Copyedit and proofread all web content
  • Create, manage, and deploy email marketing communications to provided email lists.
  • Maintain existing SECC email contacts and strategize new ways to grow our email database.
  • Analyze web data through Google Analytics and make necessary improvements to the website and app.
  • Keep current with emerging web technologies and always be willing to add to existing skill set
 

Essential Competencies
 

  • Understanding of responsive design and mobile device content display
  • Moderate understanding of online, open source website creation platforms (Wordpress, Wix, Squarespace, Rock RMS) is a must.
  • Understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts)
  • Experience editing photography and images for use on websites
  • Moderate understanding of Google Analytics and web metrics
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to display professionalism and an ongoing positive, Christian attitude while working with a multitude of ministries and volunteers
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Passion, integrity, humility and a calling to serve
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members, ministries and vendors
  • Ability to function independently, yet contribute to a team environment and goals
 

Required Education, Experience, and Membership
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field
  • 2-5 years’ experience managing content and production for websites
  • Experience working with Google Analytics for tracking and reporting on all relevant site metrics
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church who supports the Statement of Faith and submits to the leadership established by the church by the church
