Children's Ministry Leader - Blankenbaker Campus

Southeast Christian Church’s (SCC) largest campus is looking for a visionary and dynamic ‘leader of leaders’ to mobilize it’s children’s ministry to reach our mission of Connecting people to Jesus and one another.

SCC is one of the largest churches in the nation, gathering over 24,000 people each weekend.  Our Blankenbaker Campus, which serves as our broadcast campus, sees a weekly attendance of around 15,000.  This role will be tasked with setting the campus vision for birth-5th grade while servant leading a highly talented and capable Children’s team.  Responsible for cultivating a volunteer culture and engagement as a part of the disciple-making process, this leader will ensure an equipping of the saints to do the work of the ministry.  Working closely with the Family Minister, the Children’s Ministry Leader will partner to elevate collaboration and intentionality to equip parents to win as lead disciple-makers with the children in their homes.

The Children’s Ministry Leader will be held accountable for ensuring a disciple-making strategy is functioning within their area of ministry.  This includes successful visioning and execution of intentional events designed to connect the unconnected.  As the chief implementer of curriculum, this leader will work within the ideals of SCC culture and hold its commitment to Biblical teaching at the highest premium.  As one church with many locations, this leader will collaborate as a peer with Children’s Ministry Leaders at other campuses in order to maintain consistent culture and learn from best practices.  In addition, the leader will oversee budget, complete staff annual reviews, and other administrative & leadership duties.

A demonstrated effective communicator, this leader must have the gift of teaching.  Highly relational and engaging, he/she must be able to think strategically to implement a vision, while shepherding the Children’s Ministry staff well.  Must understand how to lead a team to achieve mission, able to manage and resolve conflict in a Biblical way.  As a relator to kids, must be energetic and able to have fun and not take themselves too seriously.  Looking for someone with a ministry degree and at least 5 years of Children’s Ministry experience in a mega-church.

If you meet these qualifications and desire to grow an already thriving ministry to new heights; if you understand how to lead and equip others to replicate themselves in others, and desire to be developed and grow; if our mission of ‘Connecting People (KIDS!) to Jesus and One Another’ sounds like a mission to fight for, please consider if God is calling you to this opportunity.

About the Church:

Southeast Christian Church is a family on mission, passionate about using their unique gifts to advance God’s Kingdom by connecting people to Jesus and one another. They serve the body of Christ—the Church—because they’ve experienced the love of God in their own lives. As a result, they are motivated to share it with others by loving where they are, just as Jesus demonstrated and commanded.

Founded in 1962 with 53 members under the name South Louisville Christian Church, Southeast Christian Church is currently the seventh largest church in the United States. Over the past decades, they have witnessed God working in and growing the church to be a multi-campus, powerfully prayerful, and welcoming family of believers.
